Mr. Herwindha obtained his law degree from Trisakti University, Indonesia (2004), Master of Laws degree in Economic Law from University of Indonesia (2006) and Master of Laws degree (LL.M) in Maritime Law from the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law, University of Oslo, Norway (2015), where he served as the President of Indonesian Student Association in Oslo, Norway.
As the Partner of the firm, Mr. Herwindha has been practicing law since back then in 2006 and focuses his law practice in the areas of oil and gas, employment, shipping, and intellectual property rights. Prior to his tenure at FSP Lawyers, Mr. Herwindha started his carrier in law in the largest multinational pharmaceutical company in Indonesia as its counsel, and afterwards had practiced law at reputable firms in Jakarta with strong emphasis on information, communication, and technology law as well as oil and gas. He has worked with numerous clients on the design and implementation of compliance programs, policies, procedures and risk assessments. He has also conducted on-the-ground due diligence reviews, as part of the mergers and acquisitions process and general internal compliance assessment. Further, was responsible for arranging every detail of legal documentation as well as to understand the business as a whole. He always considers himself as a thinker, a man behind the scene who expects nothing but perfection in his work. His eye of detail often put the firm clients’ interest at its best.
In addition to his experience during his tenure at one of the prominent firm in Jakarta, he had an extensive experience in handling several current and emerging telecommunications companies, internet service providers, content and technology transactions, and also representing numerous startup companies.
Mr. Herwindha currently oversees the Intellectual Property Practice and General Corporate Practice Group of the firm and represents a large number of domestic and foreign clients in a variety of areas, including trademark litigation, trademark and patent contentious proceedings before the governmental agencies, negotiations/disputes and licensing matters. He also established a solid ground-work for the Shipping and Maritime Practice Group of the firm which focuses on national and international trade and distribution law, including CISG, with an emphasis on certain industries. Given his strong versatility on complex commercial transactions, he has handled several major debt restructuring, bankruptcy, and suspension of payment cases, as well as an experience appointed as Receiver in high profile cases.
Mr. Herwindha is a regular speaker and trainer for the Indonesia Ministry of Finance in numerous occasions, such as seminar, workshop, and training. He is admitted to practice law throughout Indonesia, a member of Indonesian Bar Association (PERADI), a Certified Mediator from Indonesian Mediation Center (PMN), admitted to practice as an IP Consultant, and a registered and member of Indonesian Association of Receiver and Administrator (AKPI).
